Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Trip Expanse is a travel expense tracker intended to help users record and manage their trip expenses. This Privacy Policy explains how Trip Expanse handles information when you use the app.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Trip Expanse does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or location. The app is designed to store user data locally and not to transmit personal data to our servers.
3. Local Storage (Room Database)
All user-entered data (for example: expenses, notes, trip names, amounts, dates) is stored locally on your device using the Room Database. This data stays on your device unless you choose to back it up or export it yourself; the developer does not receive or access this data.
4. Analytics (Firebase)
Trip Expanse uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage information about app performance and feature usage (for example: number of active users, which screens are used most). Firebase Analytics is used for product improvement only. We do not use Firebase to collect personal data or to identify individual users.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Because your data is stored locally and we do not collect PII, there is no personal data sharing from Trip Expanse.
6. Security
Your app data is stored locally on your device. Please secure your device with a passcode or biometric lock if you are concerned about unauthorized access. The developer follows standard best practices when using third-party libraries, but cannot control the security of the physical device where data is stored.
7. Children
Trip Expanse is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
